Christelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor (C.1500827) in the State of Ohio. She currently is a full-time clinician at Family Pride of Northeast Ohio and has joined Ubuntu Wellness as a part-time therapist. Christelle is trained in Motivational Interviewing and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), as well as a variety of other cognitive/behavioral therapies to improve overall daily functioning for individuals. Christelle's focus is to assist adolescents and adults on a journey to improve their overall mental health and daily functioning. She believes that with a combination of human connection, interaction, and working as a team with her clients that her clients can transcend themselves into a more balanced way of life. "Sometimes we just need to be able to connect with someone on a personal level and allow them to fully express themselves in a safe place to move past the chains that bind them internally and externally."
Christelle graduated from Kent State University with her Bachelor's in Education in 2005, focusing on working with troubled adolescents who needed someone to believe in them. In 2010, she completed a Masters of Arts in Family Life Studies, with a focus on assisting families and troubled adolescents to improve functioning from a preventive approach. Through her experiences in the work field and her own personal journey, Christelle found her passion to lie more with working with persons individually versus in a larger educational setting. While working as an adjunct instructor at Kent State University in the Human Development and Family Services department, Christelle went back to school and obtained a Master's of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. Upon receiving this degree, she transitioned from her internship at Family Pride to a full-time therapist at the agency. She is now expanding her practice into the private sector to continue to build on her strengths while serving the community.
Christelle grew up in Chardon, OH and has moved around since graduating college. She moved back to Chardon in 2012 after the birth of her daughter. She is a single mom to an amazing and spunky four-year old little girl with big brown eyes. She enjoys adventures with her daughter from the playground to the zoo to traveling all over the place. Reading, biking, food, and laughs with friends are some of her favorite past-times, and of course lounging on the couch watching Netflix.
